What You Will Do
The Youth Outreach & Engagement Associate is a member of the BCNC Youth Program. At the Youth Program, you will provide opportunities for youth to build connections, explore, and understand community needs. You will work to strengthen high school youth through education, job training, and guidance so they can pursue higher education, secure a stable career, and become future leaders. You will report directly to the Director of Youth Program.
In this role, you will:
Program Development and Implementation
- Design and develop youth educational, mental health, and leadership programs
- Communicate with parents and schools for recruitment, outreach, and student progress
- Build and maintain relationships with partners (i.e., schools and community organizations) to address student needs
- Lead weekly in-person workshops for youth
- Conduct regular check-ins with program youth
- Assist in implementing interagency collaborative projects in the community
- Attend community and partnership meetings as needed
Program Administration and Supervision
- Develop and maintain outreach materials in the agency’s social media accounts (e.g., Xiaohongshu)
- Maintain program records, files, and documentation
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the Youth Program and other facilities utilized by the Youth Program
- Perform administrative duties as needed to achieve outreach and program goals, such as developing flyers and brochures in English and Chinese
- Supervise 1-2 volunteers and/or interns
Operations and Program Support
- Represent BCNC Youth Program at community events
- Manage external inquiries
- Manage logistics and order supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree required; a Master of Social Work or a related field is preferred
- At least 1-2 years of related experience preferred
- Knowledge about mental health challenges and interventions
- Experience working with Asian American and immigrant youth populations
- Experience with group facilitation and/or individual support
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese is preferred

Working Conditions
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday
- This position involves performing essential job functions in typical work environments, including but not limited to offices, classrooms, or community settings. Duties may require routine movement such as walking, standing, and bending. Depending on the role, responsibilities may also include the ability to move items weighing up to 25–50 pounds, and the use of computer equipment and effective communication.
