Position: Youth Coordinator

Part-time, hybrid*, and flexible work schedule 

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Southeast Center for Independent Living (SCIL) is a non-profit organization that services individuals with disabilities in the Greater Fall River and New Bedford areas. We provide skills training, advocacy, information and referrals, transition and prevention services, and peer counseling to individuals who wish to become more independent in their life.

Position Summary:

To work closely and effectively with students with disabilities (14-22), parents/guardians, employers, high schools, and community partners. To educate and train students with disabilities in areas focused on pre-employment services, including work readiness training, job exploration, self-advocacy, work-based learning experiences through internships, and post-secondary educational opportunities to increase their skills and independence into adulthood.

Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge and/or experience working with youth with disabilities including behavioral health, substance abuse, cognitive, hearing and vision, and physical disabilities.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, sociology, psychology, or related field. This requirement may be substituted for five years of experience in human services.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
