The Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) has an immediate opening for a Teaching Coordinator to work at a Department of Youth Services facility in the Northeast Region. This is a union contract position; salary is based on union scale which includes paid personal and sick time. Teaching Coordinators are part of the teachers’ state retirement system (MTRS) or the State Retirement System.

- You are innovative, creative and collaborative; and you hold secondary level teaching certification in math.
- You have supervisory experience.

Highlights of What You Will Do:
- Assist the Regional Education Coordinator and Assistant Regional Education Coordinator with coordinating on-site educational services.
- Provide educational leadership and direct educational instruction to youth assigned to the Department of Youth Services.
- Coordinate educational programming activities as directed and ensure compliance of programming with DYS education requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of multiple pathways of learning
- Directly supervise teachers and other educational staff assigned to program and support their professional growth
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University
- Current Massachusetts secondary level teacher licensure (8-12; 5-12) in one or more of the following core content areas aligned to teaching assignment: e.g. Math, English/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Reading.
- Additional grade levels (5-8) in the corresponding subject area is allowable for a duration of up to two years while the employee secures upper grade level certification
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle or method for attending trainings or other meetings as required at locations throughout the state
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coordinate and supervise staff
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers pursuant to ESE regulations
Working Conditions: Onsite work with teachers and specialist at DYS programs and host agencies.
Workplace Health and Safety: CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination.
Compensation scale: SEIU CBA salary scale based on licensure and education. Range $47,000-$73,000
CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. Teachers are eligible for membership in the Teachers Retirement System, MTRS. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
