Sr Program Coordinator/Program Coordinator

College Diabetes Network

on your own but not alone (tm)

Job Description

Company Description
The College Diabetes Network (CDN) is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is singularly focused on providing young adults with T1D the peer connections they value, and expert resources they need, to successfully manage the challenging transition to independence at college and beyond.

Founded in 2009, CDN works for the day when all young adults with diabetes are motivated and equipped to live a healthy life, so they can pursue their dreams without compromise.

Job Description
We are seeking a community-oriented, relationship building superstar who can help grow, maintain, and sustain CDN’s Chapter Network and strengthen our young adult campus communities across the United States. The Program Coordinator will build strong relationships with our Chapters, while delivering on strategic outcomes to help the organization reach aggressive growth goals. You will also ensure the longevity and sustainability of our existing Chapters.

The young adult voice matters, and the expectation is that you can speak to it, with it, and for it -- connecting with a diverse group of young adults while also embodying and modeling the leadership skills necessary to build community at the local level.

You will learn the in’s and out’s of our mission and programs, and then we need you to jump right in and get to work. Your role is to champion the heart of our organization -- our student-led Chapter Network -- and build an on-the-ground community from behind your computer. Your first task is to connect with CDN's student leaders and Chapter members in a meaningful way as we emerge from a year like no other.

As Program Coordinator, you are responsible for:
  • Managing our growing Chapter Network and building strong, personal relationships with student leaders and Chapter members, ensuring compliance with CDN policies and best practices.
  • Guiding and inspiring young adults from across the country to become leaders in their campus communities by networking with students, campus administration, and community partners.
  • Communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth of student-led Chapters in a variety of different campus settings.
  • Keeping a pulse on the constantly changing higher education landscape in order to best support student leaders and community growth.
  • Implementing student-centered programs in a largely virtual setting and being able to “meet students where they’re at”. College Diabetes Week is a key example.
  • Continually measuring outcomes to ensure we’re meeting organizational goals, and synthesizing and reporting on these findings both internally and externally.
  • Additional program support opportunities as assigned.

As Sr. Program Coordinator, you are also responsible for:
  • Administering our Chapter Leader and Young Adult forums on social media in partnership with CDN's Community Engagement Manager.
  • Playing a key role in the development and delivery of our Chapter Network and student communications across platforms.
  • Supporting CDN's NextGen Leaders Fellowship program.

Qualifications
  • Program Coordinator: You have a minimum of 1 year of post-college work experience in a professional setting (i.e., you know the basics of business operations and systems, professional communications and employee responsibilities).
  • Sr. Program Coordinator: You have a minimum of 2 years of post-college work using the skills and experience necessary for this role.
  • You can work as an individual contributor and also as part of a team - and you manage your time and responsibilities independently.
  • You’re a pro at building and managing strong relationships with varied constituents in largely virtual settings.
  • You’re a highly effective communicator, whether via email, phone, text message, social media, or face-to-face (or screen-to-screen).
  • You’re deeply committed to community based health and believe in the power of peer support.
  • You’re able to seamlessly shift from empowering and connecting with young adults to communicating confidently and professionally with higher education leadership.
  • You understand the importance of outcome measurements and data, and have a keen eye for detail and organization.
  • You are tech-comfortable, if not tech-savvy, and understand the importance of data.
  • You've used databases, CRMs and similar tools. Salesforce experience is a major plus.
  • You're a fit for our scrappy, collaborative, and human-first culture.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

NICE TO HAVES
  • In-depth knowledge of diabetes.
  • Experience working with Gen Z.
  • Have cultivated and know how to manage and motivate volunteers - particularly college students!
  • Experience with public speaking and/or event planning.
