Job Description

RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity in the Sr. Vice President of Advancement position. Are you a Boston-area fundraising professional with a passion for relationship building and strategic philanthropy? Collaborating with the agency’s Executive Team, key agency leaders, and the Board of Directors, the Sr. VP of Advancement reports to the President and CEO and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. 
 
Who We Seek 
• Approaches colleagues and all job-related activities from a perspective that recognizes, honors, and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
• Serves as a key external figure for the organization, creating and maintaining significant relationships for the organization both for fundraising and community engagement purposes. 
• Oversees and develops annual fundraising, marketing, and communications goals, campaigns, and activities in conjunction with team. 
• Create pathways, particularly through major donor work, to increase historical fundraising over the course of the next few years. 
• Leads a dynamic team that is responsible for fundraising, communications and marketing, grant writing, events, and community engagement. 
•Engages the Board of Trustees in building and implementing the agency’s fundraising strategy, including events and appeals, and engage Trustees around their own giving commitments. 
• Assembles the Board Development Committee multiple times per year to engage them in fundraising strategy and results and discuss specific initiatives where they can lend their insights. 
• Collaborates with fellow Executive Team leaders to identify opportunities for support from their communities and to support agency strategy and directions, as well as to support individual program needs from marketing materials to funding or contract proposals. 
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President & CEO. 
 
Who You Are 
You are someone who leads with compassion and who values collaboration, professionalism, and teamwork. The best-qualified candidate will be a strategic, motivated, and experienced fundraising professional who is skilled in relationship management has a proven track record of securing major gifts, and is deeply committed to the mission of RFK Community Alliance. At least five years of experience in a senior administrative position and in a development or marketing role. Requires Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred. CFRE certification is a plus. 

Other key skills include project and people management, excellent written and verbal communication, a team-oriented attitude, and an ability to multi-task. People of color and candidates from the Greater Boston area are encouraged; this position allows for a hybrid work schedule.
