Science Teacher - DYS Northeast Region (Middleton)

Fall opening for an innovative and creative Science Teacher to provide direct educational instruction to youth assigned to the Department of Youth Services in Middleton, MA for the 2019 - 2020 School Year. We are looking for a passionate and collaborative high school level teacher who is committed to working with youth who have been placed at risk. The right candidate will value professionalism, positive youth development, and culturally responsive teaching. Candidates must possess a current MA high school level teaching license in Science. Reliable vehicle/frequent travel required. We are a supportive team who offer teachers growth through coaching and continued professional development. Classes are small and personalized with a focus on academic and behavioral success. This is a union contract position; salary is based on union scale which includes paid sick and personal time. Successful candidates may be eligible for the teacher loan forgiveness program for up to $17,500. Teachers in DYS schools are part of the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement System.
