
Rural Health Education Coordinator

Job Description
The Rural Health Education Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with
the Executive Director, other association staff, and the NERHA Board of Directors to serve the diverse
members of the Association across the six-state region. The Education Coordinator is responsible for
oversight of projects such as the Rural Vaccine Equity Initiative and other health education/coordination
projects as assigned including virtual education opportunities, assistance with conference planning, and
external liaison activities.
Position Roles & Responsibilities:
● Provides project management for the Rural Vaccine Equity Initiative and other health
education/coordination projects including the training and technical assistance, coordination
with State Office of Rural Health staff and needed consultants, and meeting project deliverables
● Identifies training and education needs of rural New England members and stakeholders
● Develops and manages training and educational events, webinars, and conference sessions,
including the annual NERHA Rural Health Conference.
● Coordinates with the State Offices of Rural Health in six states and provides technical assistance
and facilitation support to rural provider organizations and networks.
● Completes or oversees the completion of all progress reports and other documentation for
funding agreements and assigned projects.
● Responsible for the development and dissemination of communications including monthly
newsletters and webinar opportunities to Association members and others
● Manages the educational content of the organization’s website, membership and social media
platforms.
● Maintains effective public relations for the Association.
● Ability to travel to attend state and regional meetings and represents the Association as deemed
appropriate.
● Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Clinical field, Health Education, Public Health or equivalent, preferred
Prior experience in health education
Social determinants of health or community health experience, particularly in the rural context
Regional knowledge and experience preferred
Grant/project management experience
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Technical capabilities including virtual meetings, shared virtual drives, Asana project management
system
Strong written and oral communication skills required to audiences such as legislative, health care
leaders, community etc.
Conditions of Work:
Full-time exempt position (Monday - Friday, 9-5pm with some flexibility)
Remote home office capability with internet access
Ability to travel to state and regional meetings with occasional national travel
Salary range - $48-55,000 annually depending on qualifications
