Job Description

The Research Assistant will assist the Public Health Data & Evaluation  Specialist in tasks related to the SPIFFY coalition community assessment, including qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analysis and presentation of data to community stakeholders.

Essential Functions:
  • Support Specialist in identifying data sources, obtaining data sharing agreements, and developing processes through which data can be shared, including on regional databases.
  • Assist in analyzing, reporting, and presenting  school-based youth survey data as well as data from other secondary sources. 
  • Utilize participatory evaluation approaches that provide program participants with tools for assessing the planning, implementation, and self-evaluation of their programs.
  • Develop and launch an interactive equity dashboard on the Strategic Planning Initiative for Families and Youth (SPIFFY) website.
  • Utilize Shiny package from RStudio.
  • Support that the principles of health equity, anti-racism and community-driven decision-making are integrated into every aspect of program assessment, development, implementation and evaluation. 

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science and/or 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of R Shiny Apps 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • English/Spanish bilingual
  • Experience working with diverse populations in terms of race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status

Terms of Employment
  • Hourly up to 19 hours/week (through Aug 31, 2022)
  • Salary: $20/hour
