PROGRAM LEADER AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATE

Women’s Money Matters is currently hiring for part-time Program Leaders who play a critical role in the smooth and effective implementation of our 12-week workshops. Priority will be given to individuals located in or near the 26 Massachusetts Gateway cities who are interested in also acting as a Community Advocate.

Women's Money Matters builds the financial wellness, confidence, and security of women and girls living on low-incomes through a unique program that combines instructional workshops and personal, one-to-one coaching. The mission of Women’s Money Matters is to empower women to improve their financial health to create a more secure future for their families and communities. We envision a world in which all women have a financially stable life. Women’s Money Matters is a growing organization, serving Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire since 2009. We are a hybrid remote workforce, with both virtual and in-person programming. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Program Leader role requires organization, planning skills, and management abilities. It also entails encouraging participants to attend workshops on a consistent basis and actively participate with their coaches, ensuring that all coach and participant pairs are working together towards an achievable goal.

We are specifically looking for individuals who live in Boston, Somerville, Lowell, Lawrence, Salem, Haverhill, Worcester, Fitchburg, Springfield, Fall River, or one of the other Massachusetts Gateway cities. Priority for this position will be given to those who are interested in helping with mission support and outreach efforts as a Community Advocate within these communities. 

We are recruiting Program Leaders for our virtual programs, but with the potential to lead in-person programming if you are located in or near these cities. In-person programs are flexible and can be planned based on your availability. Each program runs for 3-4 months and meets once a week. We are especially in need of Program Leaders that can be available in the afternoon for our in-person youth programming. We are looking for Program Leaders for our English programs as well as our Spanish programs.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Program Leader has the primary responsibility for overseeing their program. Tasks related to this responsibility include: 
  • Attend and oversee workshops for the assigned Women’s Money Matters program (either in person or virtually)
  • Lead the facilitation of the Introductory workshops for both the coaches and participants as well as the mid-point participant feedback session
  • Assist the Senior Volunteer Manager in matching coaches and clients
  • Step in as back up coach as necessary
  • Work with the Program Manager to bring coaches’ concerns to the Partner Agency (if applicable)
  • Participate in the monthly Coaches’ Exchange, where coaches can share their experiences and questions with each other
  • Maintain regular contact with coaches and handle issues and questions as they arise
  • Ensure each participant/coach pair have established a financial goal
  • Send workshop reminders to Presenters and share program logistics, workshop lesson plan/slides, participant roster, and any other pertinent information
  • Introduce presenters at workshops and make announcements as needed
  • Monitor Zoom chat box during online workshops
  • Access Salesforce (Portal) to track attendance and submit a detailed summary for each workshop
  • Handle any logistical concerns about workshop space or access to virtual format

COMMUNITY ADVOCACY:
  • Assist in advocating for our mission by promoting our volunteer opportunities and our programs in your community
  • Actively support and promote our mission and programs via social media posting
  • Represent Women’s Money Matters at events in your community
  • Help us to build bridges with potential partners and expand our outreach

ABOUT YOU:
  • You are passionate about empowering women and girls
  • You are organized, detail oriented, and reliable
  • You can work independently, remotely, and as a virtual team member
  • You have experience with, and can comfortably navigate, Zoom, Salesforce and G-suite
  • You live in MA or NH, preferably in or near Boston or one of the 26 Gateway cities
  • You can speak Spanish (preferred, not required)

Compensation

This part-time/hourly position requires approx 3-5 hours each week per assigned program, not to exceed 19 hours.  Compensation is $20 per hour.
