Job Description

Adaptive Sports New England is seeking a part-time contract grant writer to support its on-going development efforts. Based in Boston MA, Adaptive Sports New England is dedicated to increasing participation in sports among New England youth and adults who have a vision impairment or a physical disability. The organization runs adaptive sport programs in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair football, swimming, track, rowing and beep baseball. The organization also offers consultation to schools, disability service organizations, YMCAs and individuals on the best way to get involved in local adaptive sports.

Key Responsibilities:

1.        Grant Writing - Write and submit compelling applications for (new and existing) corporate and foundation funding opportunities. 
2.        Organization Knowledge – develop a strong working understanding of Adaptive Sports New England’s mission, programs, community and funding priorities.
3.        Pipeline Development  – Source new foundations and corporate funders that are aligned with the Adaptive Sports New England mission. Research target funder’s grants, award levels, guidelines and deadlines. 
4.        Reporting – write and submit required progress and final reports, including collecting required program and financial information.

Qualifications

1.        Passion for the Adaptive Sports New England mission and willingness to learn about adaptive sport athletes, programs and resources.
2.        Demonstrated knowledge and experience in non-profit grant writing and sourcing of opportunities.
3.        Ability to work closely with Adaptive Sports New England leadership team; and to collaborate in a remote environment.
