To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking an Operations and Finance Associate to join our team. This position will support the organization’s administrative and accounting functions.
Supervisor: Assistant Director of Operations
The Role: The successful candidate will enjoy creating an environment where everyone is able to do their best work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accounting and Finance
· Process invoices for payment including verifying coding, collecting receipts, and submitting them for payment
· Coordinate the distribution, coding, and collection of credit card statements
· Support payroll services through collecting timesheets, new hire forms, etc.
· Manage various accounting schedules and reconciliations
· Track organization-wide contracts and vendor files
· Support the adherence to organizational fiscal policies and controls
Operations
· Coordinate phone system including issuing phone numbers to new staff, periodic updating the auto-attendant, troubleshooting, etc.
· Check and disseminate voicemails from the organization’s main line
· Coordinate staff office visit (while closed due to the pandemic)
· Order office supplies
· Sort and distribute mail
· Coordinate with outsourced IT department for staff needs
· Oversee technology inventory and support equipment distribution
· Manage job postings and the dissemination of applicants to hiring managers
· Help maintain personnel files
Qualifications:

· An Associate degree or higher in accounting, business, or related field, or two years of experience in a similar role, or a combination of education and experience
· A self-starter who can manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong written and oral communication skills and good attention to detail
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and Word
· Commitment to continually improving administrative and accounting practices
· Ability to support Project Bread’s diversity, equity, and inclusion vision
· Dedication to ending hunger in Massachusetts
