What You Will Do
As the Mel King Institute (MKI) Special Initiatives Fellow, you will assist in developing a structure and enrollment process for organizations and groups to participate in an MKI book club, facilitate book club discussions and virtual launch event, survey members, create materials for MKI website resources along with a toolkit for MKI instructors to include presentations, tip sheet, and resource links, write program impact profiles for MKI newsletter, and conduct interviews to elevate lessons learned for MACDC Racial Equity Pledge Adopters.

- Earn a $6,750 stipend for serving 450 hours payable by bi-monthly direct deposit.
- Earn an additional $1,824 education benefit to pay down qualifying student loan debt or to continue your education.
- Receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
What Your Work Environment Will Be
This is a 3 – 4 month position where you will typically serve between Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends. An exact schedule will be determined upon selection. You will report in person at our office and will be required to travel locally for meetings and community events.

- Possess unexpired proof of status as a US citizen or permanent resident.
