Job Description

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) has a full-time opportunity available for a Membership Data Specialist.

Reporting to the Director of Customer Care and Conversion, the Membership Data Specialist is responsible for administering the criminal background screening process for all of the council’s volunteers. This includes detailed data entry into multiple databases and management of the physical forms.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, day-time position based in the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Andover or Waltham office.

Key Responsibilities:

Criminal Background Screening Process

  • Enter and track data in the state’s CORI and SORI systems to complete criminal background screenings, including interacting with volunteers as needed to obtain required information.   This role does not determine volunteer eligibility.
  • Enter criminal background screening information into Salesforce database for each member.
  • Manage the tracking and filing of forms as required by state regulations.
 
General Membership Data Support

  • Collaborate with Program Operations team to ensure member data for camp is completed accurately and on time, including communicating with members to collect and update forms as needed.
  • Enter volunteer training roster information into learning management system. 
  • Maintain confidentiality on behalf of the Girl Scout organization and in accordance with the GSEMA Comprehensive Information Security Program (CISP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Data entry experience or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree required.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis on high-quality data entry into multiple databases and spreadsheets.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in order to interact with customers in writing and by Zoom.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office software; experience using Salesforce or other database software preferred.
  • Capacity to independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Girl Scout membership experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual skill is desirable.

 Work Environment/Travel:

This is a fully office-based position in GSEMA’s Andover or Waltham office. Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to GSEMA offices.

Physical Demands: 

  • Involves prolonged periods of sitting or working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
