Job Description
Summary
The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic, people-first, multi-tasker to assist the membership team in their daily operations. The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the membership team in the daily operations of relationship management including updating membership information in the database, adding new member information, adding, and updating prospect information, membership inbox management responding to and forwarding members inquiries, preparing materials for member meetings, membership committee meetings, and ad hoc projects, as necessary. The Membership Coordinator will process all new online members as well as onboard all new members. New member management includes retaining year one members by fully engaging each company that joins the Chamber. The Membership Coordinator will be an integral part of keeping member relationships fresh and active. And will assist the team with hitting their annual new revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Membership Development
- Monitor and respond to all incoming membership correspondence through the phone, mail, or email in a timely manner.
- Run weekly and monthly reports on membership data and as requested.
- Support membership team, SVP, and CEO for all Board, Membership Committee, and member meetings
- Produce (create, proofread, edit) department materials and send communication such as email announcements, engagement plans, one-pagers, dues, and newsletter updates
- Reach out to nonmembers after events to request meetings for DOMD
- Manage membership inbox and assist member service with their inbox if needed
- Manage the on-boarding process for new members as directed by the DOMD
- Support the Membership Development Team in the recruitment of new members
- Research and provide background information on prospective companies
- Track lead distribution and audit new member dues in conjunction with finance
- Date entry and status reporting
- Track and update Targeted industries in Chamber Master
- Update Board Referrals list
- Monitor and update Top Prospect List
- Develop recruitment lists and contacts
- Process all online members
- Ensure retention for year one members
- Assist DOMD with outreach to former members
- Work with DOMD on recruitment of former members/prospects of MITX
General Support
- Serve as one of our in-house Chamber Master experts, overseeing Chamber Masters data integrity and ensuring member profiles are accurate
- Act as point of contact for all new members' online portal
- Assist with marketing initiatives
- Attend and support Chamber Events
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or 1-3 years experience in business development or customer service
- Ability to multitask and change directions as needed
- Experience with membership databases, and reporting
- High attention to details
- Experience with MS Office and other business software tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior-level executives
- Superior time management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
