Position Summary:
MENTOR is seeking a Training Delivery Manager, who is a skilled communicator, with experience in training, and a proactive strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The goal of this position is to plan, curate, and deliver training and professional development content for mentoring practitioners, MENTOR Affiliates and other audiences to execute MENTOR’s national training strategy.
As a convener and thought leader for the mentoring field, MENTOR produces research-to-practice tools, products, and trainings that bring the evidence base for safe, effective mentoring to life and enable practitioners to apply this knowledge to their work with young people across the nation. As MENTOR’s library of training and professional learning opportunities grows, MENTOR’s Training Delivery Manager will manage the delivery of webinars, workshops, courses, and trainings for the mentoring field in a variety of formats.
This position reports to the Director of Training and Product Design and will join the organization’s Program Team, which is charged with driving excellence and rigor so that the quality and quantity of mentoring and mentoring experiences are enhanced overall.
Responsibilities:
Project Management for content and logistics planning for programmatic events:
- Manage the coordination of programming and preparation for MENTOR’s biggest event: National Mentoring Summit
- Manage the planning process, selection of topics, and development of content of the Collaborative Mentoring Webinar Series
- Continuous assessment of program quality through reviews and feedback surveys to identify programmatic gaps and improvements
- Provide content and facilitation for MENTOR’s quarterly National Organizations and Youth Serving Organizations calls, which keep national programmatic partners informed about MENTOR’s resources and provide a space for collaboration and peer learning
Training Facilitation and Management:
- Manage the development and execution of MENTOR’s programmatic training calendar; a cohesive listing of all professional development, training and learning events for the mentoring field (both virtual and in-person)
- Support events related to the National Mentoring Resource Center (NMRC), a comprehensive resource hub for grantees of the federal program through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)
- Identify and oversee the work of contracted trainers, panelists and facilitator
- Provide direct event and training facilitation as needed.
Qualifications:

- 2-5 years’ experience in adult training and development preferably in a nonprofit youth development or mentoring organization
- Advanced knowledge of innovative training approaches and ability to execute new ideas and pilots of training curricula
- Strong writing and information synthesis and management skills, with the ability to organize subject matter content into new products
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to motivate and inspire teams to produce quality work within tight timeframes
- Desire to work collaboratively across organizational functions and with program and administrative staff to ensure outcomes
- Background and/or knowledge of mentoring, youth development, or K12 education a plus
- Experience delivering training and teaching new skills to small and large groups
- Experience with learning management systems and online learning platforms
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Ability to travel nationally up to 30% of time

We aim to have phone interviews in early August with select candidates. Candidates who advance will have a virtual interview with Desiree Robertson, Director of Training & Product Design and Katherine Ozawa, Instructional Design Manager. Finalists will be selected for a virtual interview day with MENTOR staff. Candidates advanced to offer can expect a holistic reference check process and a background check. Expected start is Fall 2022.
This position is full-time and remote with up to 30% national travel. For candidates who are based where MENTOR National has offices (Boston and Washington D.C.), MENTOR is expecting all employees to work in the office 2 days a week or 8 days a month. Slight preference will be given to candidates in the Greater Boston area.
Compensation and Benefits
MENTOR offers a competitive salary for all staff positions. The exact salary that will be offered will be determined based on a consideration of the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and geography and aligned with MENTOR’s compensation policies. Salary Range for this role is $55,000-$65,000 and it comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, 403B, pre-tax transit, generous vacation, and life and short- and long-term disability insurance.
