The Manager of Finance will provide oversight for financial reporting, budget and monitoring of fiscal policies and practices.  Direct the agency’s accounting functions. Work with senior management across the organization to educate and support fiscal management and compliance with policies and practices. This position will take the lead on implementation, training and maintenance of a new accounting software. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and review the deliverables in the Finance department, including all deliverables related to monthly closings.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly financial reports for leadership presentation, including variance reporting, as well as financial projections as necessary.
  • Demonstrate and train accounting staff of function and features on accounting software.
  • Design reports that support needs of the organization along with individual departments.
  • Develop, implement and monitor a calendar of financial cycles, including tax, audit, regulatory and other management reports. 
  • Design and implement systems to improve workflows and meet new and complex requirements for management information and reporting.
  • Participate in the development, communication and achievement of organizational financial policies and goals.
  • Monitor accounting policies and practices; review, monitor and maintain high standards for internal controls within Accounting Office and throughout agency.
  • Provide oversight for Accounts Receivable, including daily cash receipts and G/L entries, as well as invoicing on all major grants and contracts.
  • Work with Development staff to accurately plan, account for and track giving.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CFO

 Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demands):

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in related field
  • CPA Required
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • MS Office and accounting software competency 
  • Experience with Netsuite and Paycom a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement new policies and practices
  • Strong project management, follow-through and outstanding customer service skills; must have proven good judgment and creativity in solving problems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Travel among sites and to activities as needed
