Job Description

Just A Start is seeking a detail-oriented, flexible and dynamic program coordinator to join our Homeownership Programs team. The Program Coordinator would help first-time homebuyers purchase affordable homes, and issue home improvement loans to existing low and moderate-income owners.  



Just A Start’s Homeownership Programs provide direct assistance to income-qualified homebuyers and homeowners in Cambridge.  



o   The Condo Buyback Program oversees the purchase, rehabilitation, and sale of affordable homes and condominiums to first-time homebuyers in Cambridge. 
 
o   The Home Improvement Program works with income-eligible Cambridge homeowners to fund and oversee needed home repair and rehabilitation projects.



The Homeownership Programs Coordinator would report to the Program Director, and work closely with Just A Start’s Real Estate and Housing Services programs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



This role is critical for the smooth operation of the Homeownership Programs and will help facilitate the process for program participants by:



·       Coordinating with contractors, homeowners, and various municipal departments to populate program application packages.
 
·       Preparing documents for and otherwise assisting with mortgage loans and residential closings, and reporting.
 
·       Managing and organizing the electronic and paper data systems for the Homeownership Programs portfolio.   
 
·       Maintaining financial accounting of existing client portfolio including preparing check requests and invoices for the Home Improvement Program, and coordinating tax, condo fees, and utility bills for the Condo Buyback program.  
 
·       Assist with the preparation of quarterly contract reports to funder.
 
·       Participating in meetings with Homeownership Program clients, municipal staff, contractors, and other stakeholders. 
 



Qualifications



·       Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of one-year relevant experience or equivalent work experience and demonstrated skills.
 
·       Excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, municipal officials, and other various stakeholders.
 
·       Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat & Google Documents.
 
·       Great interpersonal skills.  The ability to work effectively with diverse populations, be client-focused and patient, collaborative and flexible are all a must for this role. 
 
·       Familiarity with legal documents such as Mortgages, Deeds, Discharges & Subordinations is strongly preferred.
 
·       Ability to be detail-oriented while mission-driven.
 
·       CORI/SORI required.




Salary and Benefits

Starting Salary ($50 - $55K Annual)

In addition to a competitive salary, Just A Start offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, dental insurance, short term disability insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, transportation benefits, 20 PTO days in the first year, 13 paid holidays, VTO (Volunteer Time Off) and a 401k savings plan with a 3% employer contribution.

 

Work Requirements

This is a 37.5-hour per week hybrid remote/in-the-office position and is entitled to full employee benefits including health, dental and retirement.
