Job Description

The Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and licensed Full-time School Counselor/Clinician to join HEC Academy in Northampton, MA.  HEC Academy is a special education day school setting which serves high-school-aged students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges and learning disabilities.

The clinician will provide a full range of therapeutic and psychoeducational services, as well as behavioral interventions and supports in both group and 1:1 formats throughout the school day.  Our ideal candidate will be creative and flexible with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary school team to meet the complex social, emotional, behavioral, and learning needs of our students, and have a passion for and commitment to working with youth placed at risk.  In addition, the individual will demonstrate an investment in, and dedication to, principles of social justice and equity and diversity and inclusion.  Bilingual candidates and candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or psychology.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of counseling experience serving children and adolescents with learning, behavioral, and/or social emotional challenges.
  • State licensure in Psychology (Health Service Provider), LICSW, LCSW, or LMHC; licensing credentials must allow for Medicaid billing submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7D License (or, willingness to pursue).
  • Demonstrated ability and training in crisis intervention and de-escalation, and awareness of CPR/First-Aid and psychiatric management. 
  • Understanding of special education populations, school settings, and the intersection of special education and mental health. 

This opportunity is for the FY 21 School Year, 185 days; 35 hours/week, Monday through Friday – per the school year calendar,  work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Compensation:
Competitive scale based on education and license. 

CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions.  FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service. Professional development and mentoring offered throughout the school year.
