Job Description
Community Investors (CI) is dedicated to providing fun, and inclusive after and out of school programs focused on supporting the physical, social and emotional wellness of kids.
OVERVIEW AND IMPACT
The CI Grant Writer supports CI’s organizational development/fundraising plan. This part-time/contractor position focuses specifically on identifying and submitting grant proposals and requires excellent research and communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization
Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies
Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
Write letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, reports, and end-of-year letters for foundation, public, and corporate prospects
Submit proposals to Treasurer/Executive Team for approval
Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders
Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of writing, grant writing and/or Development experience
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and research skills
Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity
Ability to take initiative, show good judgement, and manage projects from beginning to end
Detail oriented with the ability to anticipate next steps or needs
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
Experience writing public/government grants a plus

This position will be fully remote for the foreseeable future
