Job Description
To apply, send your cover letter and resume to Development Director, Michelle Taylor, at michelle@sahiyo.org.
If you are committed to working to end gender-based violence and promoting human rights with a rapidly growing, survivor and women-led, trans-national organization then Sahiyo U.S. is looking for you!
Sahiyo began in 2015 as a conversation between five women who felt strongly about ending female genital cutting (FGC), also known as female genital mutilation. What started as collaboration soon grew into a movement, and the need for an organized, informed platform became clear. This led to the birth of Sahiyo, a pioneering organization dedicated to addressing FGC and its broader implications.
Our mission is to empower Asian and other communities to end FGC and drive positive social change through dialogue, education, and collaboration rooted in community engagement. By striving for an FGC-free world, we seek to champion the values of consent and uphold the fundamental right of every child and woman to have autonomy over their own bodies. At Sahiyo, we envision a world where female sexuality is no longer feared or suppressed but embraced as a natural and celebrated aspect of life.
