Job Description
Executive Director
Hours needed to start with : 20 hours a week - $25 per hour.
Require to be in person for 50% of the time other time from home
Our Mission
The Friends of Indian Senior Citizen’s Organization (FISCO) is a 501c3 social work agency
supporting Asian Indian senior citizens residing in towns in the northwestern part of the
Boston Metro Region. The organization has four main programs with the mission to reduce
isolation among seniors. Their programs and activities consist of frequent social interactions
and gatherings, education for the maintenance of good mental and physical health, a signature
hot meal served each week on Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday at the Burlington/Shrewsbury
and Westfor Senior Center, and a Desi-Meals-On-Wheels program with food delivered to the
homes of seniors in surrounding towns.
Position Requirements:
1. Responsible for leading the agency in a manner that supports and
guides the agency’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
2. Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and
providing in a timely and accurate manner all information
necessary for the Board to function and to make informed decisions.
3. Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources
sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
4. Manage website and regular update will be done by ED
5. Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the agency, to include
submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget with support
from an outside accountant, the creation of monthly financial
statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the
organization.
6. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates
operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource
utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive
financial position.
7. Responsible for oversight of all fundraising activities and pursuing
other resources necessary to support the agency’s mission.
8. Lastly, a person who is able to take direction and work well with the
Board's senior members and culturally sensitive to the needs of the
Asian Indian senior citizens.
