Role
The Board of Directors of Boston Farms Community Land Trust is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring sound financial management, and adopting appropriate policies that position the organization for success.
Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings via webinar and an in-person annual retreat, serve on a committee, fundraise, and actively promote the organization and cultivate important relationships on our behalf.

Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings via webinar and an in-person annual retreat, serve on a committee, fundraise, and actively promote the organization and cultivate important relationships on our behalf.
Responsibilities
- Participate in reviewing and approving policies, budgets, and strategic plans.
- Promote practices that support environmental sustainability and food sovereignty.
- Represent the land trust in the community and build relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders.
- Serve on at least one board committee (e.g., land acquisition, finance, outreach).
- Provide expertise and perspective in relevant areas such as farming, land conservation, law, finance, nonprofit management, or community development.
- Prior board experience is a plus but not required.
