Work alongside a diversity of partners, from Salem Sound's watershed communities and across the North Shore.
Salem Sound Coastwatch (SSCW), an environmental non-profit based in Salem MA, focuses on educating students and the public about stormwater pollution and how human activities on the land pollute the ocean to protect coastal waters, marine habitats and rivers. We are seeking a part-time person to work in three of SSCW’s on-going programs: Salem Greening the Gateway City, School to Sea and Greenscapes.

Salem Greening the Gateway City is a Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Program. SSCW is the non-profit partner for Salem’s Greening Gateway Program. Our work entails outreach to recruit 2000 homeowners and renters who live in environmental justice neighborhoods to sign up to receive trees planted by DCR Foresters. https://www.maurbancanopy.org/town/salem/
Our School to Sea program is seeking to diversify its staff who work with Salem Public School students during school and after-school programs. You will assist SSCW’s School to Sea Director with English Language Learners in watershed education experiences both outdoors and in the classroom during school-time and after-school programming using SSCW’s curriculum. Greenscapes serves 25 municipalities across Essex County providing outreach and education to support municipal compliance with water-related regulatory requirements, including the MS4 Stormwater and the Water Management Act permits. Greenscapes has an activities based school program called “Keeping Water Clean” that every Salem 5th grader will participate in between January and June 2022. https://greenscapes.org/

Additional Qualifications:
- Multilingual preferred: English & Spanish, Portuguese
- Experience in environmental science
- Comfortable outdoors and experience working with children
