Job Description
Flying Cloud Institute (FCI) seeks a dedicated and inspiring educator to lead its science and art programs in community schools. FCI is a dynamic small nonprofit committed to inspiring the natural curiosity of children through real world science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) challenges that inspire creativity.
The Educator will teach STEAM residencies in local schools, during the day and after school, provide enrichment programs and organize community events in science and art exploration, and work with the FCI team to appropriately budget, plan, and execute programs. The Educator will work closely in partnership with local school districts, artists, teachers, STEM professionals, schools, and nonprofit organizations to bring meaningful experiences to students.

- Bachelor or Masters degree in a STEM discipline, education, and/ or the arts
- Minimum of 2 years combined relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience working with children in classroom and/ or out-of-school time settings
- Passionate about K-12 STEAM education
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong proficiency with technology
- Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing organization, including flexibility to simultaneously perform a wide variety of tasks
- Sensitivity to differences in culture and nationality with the ability to work closely with colleagues with a range of professional backgrounds as part of a small, closely-knit team
- Experience working with G-suite, Excel, and Microsoft Word
Salary range: $42,000 to $50,000 depending on experience
Benefits: Eligible staff may elect to enroll in FCI's health insurance plan. Mass CORE Retirement benefit with up
to 4% annual match. Employment also includes 10 paid holidays, paid sick time, and a minimum 120 hours of
paid vacation leave.
