Job Description

The Salem Pantry (TSP), a leading food access organization on the North Shore, is seeking a Distribution Hub Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of its centralized food storage and distribution facility. This position focuses on maintaining cross-dock efficiency, organizing stored inventory, ensuring accurate inventory rotation, and coordinating incoming and outgoing partner agency deliveries. The Distribution Hub Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that the expanded facility supports both internal programming and partner agency needs with precision, timeliness, and dignity.

Responsibilities:
Distribution Hub Logistics
  • Oversee daily cross-dock operations, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of product between delivery and pickup partners.
  • Communicate with partner agencies to confirm delivery/pickup schedules, storage needs, and product status
  • Maintain clear records of incoming and outgoing products related to other agency use
  • Track and document any partner inventory stored onsite in alignment with MOU agreements

Warehouse Operations
  • Monitor and maintain organized inventory in dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas
  • Support inventory rotation, labeling, and restocking in coordination with Distribution and Acquisition Specialists
  • Ensure that staging areas are prepared for scheduled inbound/outbound loads
  • Communicate closely with Food Acquisition and Distribution Manager and the Distribution Team to avoid congestion and delays
  • Support cleanliness and food safety best practices throughout the warehouse
  • Assist in accepting and unloading deliveries, including those from the Greater Boston Food Bank and local vendors
  • Participate in weekly team operations meetings and partner planning sessions

Driving and Delivery
  • Deliver products to partner agencies as needed or provided for in an agency MOU
  • Secure and safely park vehicles in our facility
  • Maintain the cleanliness and usability of TSP vehicles

Organizational Engagement
  • Attend regular all-team meetings and actively contribute to program planning and review discussions
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to support organizational goals and initiatives
  • Assist with additional tasks or organizational needs when requested

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, and use tools or controls. The employee must be able to lift 40+ pounds and operate equipment such as pallet jacks, etc. (training provided)

The employee will work in warehouse, retail, and outdoor environments with exposure to conditions such as heat, cold, and dust.

Knowledge and Previous Experience
  • Prior experience in logistics, food distribution, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Must be over 26 years old and have a clean driving record with 6 years of driving experience. Background checks will be conducted upon hire, and future driving records may be checked as required. (Not a CDL Position)
