Job Description

Mission: Neighborhood Villages envisions a future in which all families have access to affordable, high-quality early education and care. In service of this vision, we advocate for early education and care policy reform and implement innovative, scalable solutions that address the biggest challenges facing early education and care providers and the families who rely on them.

The Director of Workforce Development, reporting to Chief Program Officer Binal Patel, will be responsible for overseeing and managing programs in the Workforce Development Portfolio including the Career Pathways Program and the Business Training Program. Responsibilities include management of Program Coordinators, management of the Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist, and stewardship of relationships with partners including academic partners. The Director of Workforce Development will play a critical role in increasing the number of licensed early educators in Boston, enabling teachers to pursue their professional development goals, and directly addressing the workforce crisis in early childhood education.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of Program Coordinators for Workforce Development Programs.

Organize and streamline processes for recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support for educators participating in Neighborhood Villages Workforce Development programs.

Work collaboratively with the Chief Program Officer to design, implement, and improve Workforce Development programming.

Organize and streamline data management of Workforce Development Programs.

Establish and promote high standards and consistency between programs in the Workforce Development Portfolio.

Meet regularly with Bunker Hill Community College, Urban College, the United Way, and other partner organizations to insure program integrity and efficacy.

Ensure that Workforce Development participants have a direct pipeline to employment opportunities at partner programs in the Neighborhood.

Participate in Neighborhood Villages' evaluation and continuous program quality improvement efforts.

Work as part of a collaborative team to refine and improve the NV Career Lattice, and ensure that it aligns with new quality improvement measures from the Department of Early Education and Care.

Establish and promote high standards, expectations, and consistency across Workforce Development programs.

Work as part of a collaborative team to develop and implement a multi-year plan for the Workforce Development portfolio based on the needs of the field.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree preferred

Management experience

At least three years experience in early education leadership

Exceptional ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities

Demonstrated ability to deeply know and support people

Attention to detail

Excellent communication skills

Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment
