Classification: Exempt - Full Time
Working Hours: Standard hours with night and weekend hours expected for special events
Working Location: Majority onsite in Boston-based office, with some remote flexibility and statewide travel
Salary: $80,000-85,000/year

Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is a dynamic statewide nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that every young person in MA has access to quality mentoring relationships, regardless of who they are or where they live.
An affiliate of The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR), MMP is part of a national effort that helps grassroots organizations foster quality mentoring relationships by producing research for the field, shaping policy change through advocacy, and driving public awareness on the impact of mentoring for young people.
For more than 30 years MMP has served as an intermediary organization, providing the critical link between national evidence-based research and programs across the State. MMP provides the tools, research, training and best practices adults require to truly show up for youth in a caring and consistent way in schools, community, and workplaces.

Overview of Position:
Mass Mentoring Partnership seeks a talented and dynamic professional to join our team as the Director of Training and Capacity Building to strengthen the training and consulting work that is key to the organization’s mission. MMP is committed to building a culturally diverse staff of professionals who are experienced and motivated to promote positive youth development and address equity and inclusion within our own work and that of the programs with whom we work. The Director works as an integral part of the Mass Mentoring team to build the capacity of youth-serving programs and institutions across the state. This role sets the strategy for MMP’s training and capacity building team, working closely with and reporting to a new VP of Program Strategy & Impact to support the needs of the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training and capacity building strategy aligned with MMP's mission and network needs.
- Lead curriculum planning and co-create new or enhanced training modules with program staff.
- Lead, develop, and deliver consulting services, including crafting client proposals and models for product dissemination.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of all training initiatives, including the annual public training calendar.
- Evaluate and implement assessment tools; analyze findings and present data to inform programming.
- Build and maintain partnerships with professionals in mentoring, youth development, and related fields.
- Collaborate with the VP of Program Strategy & Impact and Chief Advancement Officer on partnership development, program fee-for-service, grant writing, and setting programmatic deliverables.
- Provide quarterly updates to VP for MMP's Board of Directors.
- Recruit, supervise, and support 1-2 Managers of Training and Capacity Building.
- Represent MMP's mission and values at community events, meetings, and strategic opportunities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen leadership and training capacity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in program development, consultation and/or training in youth development.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to work and connect with diverse communities, people, and partners and a commitment to promoting inclusion in all practices and efforts.
- Must have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as being a quick and productive multitasker
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience supervising professionals.
- Utilize and update MMP CRM by recording activities, contacts, and pertinent details on an ongoing basis consistent with current policies.
- Experience using technology for knowledge sharing, including web-based training a plus
- Possess a valid driver’s license and requirement to travel to programs across the state of Massachusetts for training and consultation.
- Available for periodic night and occasional weekend work.
Preferred Skills
- Content Knowledge: Deep understanding of mentoring, youth development, and a demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice.
- Training Experience: Proven experience designing and delivering in-person and virtual trainings for adult learners.
- Relationship Management: Strong skills in building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Project Management Experience: Experience managing parts of projects and processes to ensure that high quality deliverables are produced on time. Experience coordinating across teams and deliverables
- Communications: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with community members, in supervisory relationships, with colleagues, and with project partners and funders. Experience developing and reviewing written materials for outside audiences is preferred.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also as a team player who will productively engage with others.
