About the Organization
Dream Big! provides girls and young women from economically disadvantaged communities with sports equipment, sports attire, program fees, and leadership training needed that enables them to be able to participate in sports and physical activities that contribute to their health, education, and overall well-being. Dream Big! programs have had a direct impact on over 85,000 girls and young women since launched in 2010.
 
About The Position:
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Programs is responsible for the strategic planning and management of all program efforts for Dream Big!. This person will oversee all program related activities, including equipment and sports attire distributions, scholarship programs, Dream Big! Leadership Conferences, sports clinics, warehouse management and distribution days, community outreach, and in-kind equipment/sports attire drives.
 
We are driven by our mission and motivated by the impact we are having in working to breakdown the economic barrier that prevents thousands of girls and young women from participating in sports and physical activities. 
 
Requirements
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be an organized Director of Programs who will:
  • Develop project plans to strategically manage multiple projects, sports clinics, coach’s training clinics, and distribution days.
  • Manage the intake and distribution of all equipment and sports attire donations and purchases.
  • Manage warehouse volunteers and staff to ensure inventory is sorted and organized in a timely fashion.
  • In coordination with bookkeeper ensure accurate management of all inventory and in-kind donations.
  • Ensure that all programs are optimally utilized to achieve both short- and long-term goals for the organization.
  • This position will oversee the receipt and distribution of sports attire and equipment, to and from the warehouse, as well as all athlete distribution days.
  • Create and track program budgets, and maintain data spreadsheets, for reporting to measure impact
  • Establish productive, and professional relationships with key community partners including schools, coaches, corporations, and foundations.
  • Oversee the planning and management of annual Dream Big! Leadership Conferences for female student athletes. 
  • Oversee the planning and management of sports clinics for athletes and coaches. 
  • Review and manage all Dream Big! equipment/sports attire and program scholarship requests and present them weekly for review to President & CEO.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all corporate/community equipment and sports attire drives.
  • Manage community outreach prospecting & stewardship initiatives
  • Regularly collaborate with colleagues, directors, and senior leadership across the organization to achieve team and organizational goals.
  • Oversee a volunteer athlete/coach advisory board.
  • Prepare weekly program impact reports for all staff.
 
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
  • Passionate about the mission of Dream Big!
  • An undergraduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of program or sports management experience in a leading role for a corporate/sports organization (non-profit is a plus). A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to take ownership and quickly resolve and troubleshoot issues under pressure. This person should have a talent for overseeing work plans and delegation.
  • Ability to work with numerous coaches, program leaders, and athletes at once while managing scheduling of pick up and deliveries.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with the ability to think creatively and strategically as well as adapt to changing circumstances
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and oral presentation skills to represent Dream Big! and its mission to a variety of internal leadership and external constituents. Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people.
  • Event planning and event management experience strongly desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook Email, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel) with the ability to quickly learn new technology. 
  • Must be able to lift 20+lbs to help with equipment and sports attire donations and inventory management.
  • Experience as an athlete or having worked in the field of coaching/sports management is a plus.
  • Travel is required for the execution of this role, so a valid driver’s license and car are required. Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as necessary.
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Reporting Relationship and Location
The Director of Programs will report to the President & CEO. This position is Needham, MA based and is not remote. All Dream Big! full-time employees are expected to work in the Needham office 4 days/week, with the option to work remotely from a home office on Fridays.
 
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 (Placement within this range will depend on direct and applicable project/sports management experience)
