About The Salem Pantry
The Salem Pantry (TSP) works collaboratively to empower our diverse local and regional communities by ensuring the essential right to convenient and reliable access to healthy food.  TSP is currently in a growth phase as an organization, with new leadership in place, a newly approved mission and strategic plan and building a new storefront pantry.  Combined with an engaged Board of Directors, the small Pantry staff works closely with partner organizations and countless volunteers to operate its programs.  This year, TSP is excited add the new position of Director of Programs and Partnerships to our team.
 
The Position
The Salem Pantry is seeking a Director of Programs and Partnerships (DPP) to guide TSP's community programming and partnership work. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will manage external program relationships with TSP stakeholders, including for the mobile distribution program, food is medicine collaboration and new storefront pantry project. The DPP will ensure that program partnerships and growth are aligned with TSP’s strategic goals and implementation plan. The position will be responsible for leading our program team, including supervising our Manager of Volunteers & Pantry Services and Storefront Pantry Manager. This is a full-time, salary position and the weekly schedule may shift periodically to align with any shifts in Salem Pantry’s programming. 

Responsibilities
●      Oversee TSP’s food distribution programming, including the execution of long- and short-term goals and plans. Balance program priorities with organization-wide priorities.
●      Ensure that staff members are collaborating effectively within programs by reviewing outcomes, including pantry guest and partner feedback
●      Support the completion of the new storefront pantry buildout, working with Executive Director and TSP’s Board Planning Committee
●      Hire, train, and supervise program staff and service members. Facilitate communication and provides leadership within the team.
●      Developing and maintaining strong community relationships with external program partners and host sites. Cultivate, steward, and maintain alliances and partnerships with community stakeholders to meet the needs of pantry guests and volunteers.
●      Ensuring that all projects are properly documented, are delivered within budget and that work is evaluated and data input into database
 
Qualifications
  •      Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred 
●      Demonstrated ability to be well-organized, with the proven ability to multi-task, set work priorities, track projects and meet deadlines
●      Proven interpersonal skills including excellent listening, public speaking, oral & written communications skills
●      Experience in staff supervision, including building and motivating teams to succeed
●      Previous oversight of planning and overseeing department budgets
●      Significant technological proficiency, including CRM management and Microsoft Office suite
●      Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, nights or weekends for special events or meetings 
●      Proven capacity to work in a multicultural workforce, including sensitivity and competence in working with individuals and groups of diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
●      Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the TSP mission. 
●      Ability to lift and transport up to 40 pounds
●      Access to a car (mileage reimbursement included)
 
Compensation
The Director of Programs and Partnerships is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 - 65,000 and is commensurate with experience. (Benefits include healthcare reimbursement, 401 (k) plan with organizational match & generous paid time off policy).
