Job Description
Foundation focused on providing low-income individuals with access to legal assistance is seeking a Part-Time Director of Development to further their mission.
Hours/Schedule: 25 hours/week, paid holidays and paid vacation
Job Type: Direct
Location Requirements: Hybrid 1-2 days in office, Tuesday is the in-office anchor day, flexible schedule
Rate: $50,000/annually
Job Description: The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to advance the organization's development goals through individual, corporate and foundation funders.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Development Committee of the Board to identify major donor prospects and cultivate committee member involvement.
- Conduct research to approach prospective corporate and individual sponsors.
- Maintain donor information in database.
- Conduct foundation research and prospecting, leveraging resources to identify good matches to the mission.
- Prepare draft grant proposals, interim, and final reports, for review by Executive Director.
- Manage foundation calendar, track proposal and report deadlines.
- Develop corporate partnership materials with clear lists of benefits, branding opportunities, and sponsor tiers for major corporate and nonprofit sponsors.
- Create and develop all other necessary development materials and related collateral to support organization's fundraising goals.
- Manage acknowledgement letter writing and donor recognition processes.
- Create acknowledgment letter protocols, design stewardship reports, and curate personalized stewardship programs for top donors. Ensure all donors are properly recognized for gifts to support the organization.
Qualifications:
- Five years of development experience, preferably with a mission-oriented nonprofit. Proven experience in development.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills, strong analytical skills as well as a good eye for presentation. Ability to develop compelling messages, speak and write persuasively.
- Strong project management and time management skills, ability to meet internal deadlines, juggle multiple responsibilities, display initiative and work independently.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytics for donor analysis.
- Experience with organizational CRMs such as CiviCRM, as well as Word, Excel, and Google Docs; experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal preferred, but not required.
