Job Overview
MOVA is seeking a mission-driven content creator to manage MOVA’s online voice and social media presence, supporting direct services for victims of crime. The Digital Media Coordinator is a part of the Communications and Training Team and reports to the Director of Communications and Training. This position serves as the coordinator for web development, social media strategy, and takes part in the planning and implementation of professional development and community education opportunities for Massachusetts victim services providers, survivors, and allied professionals. This position requires an individual with a passion for digital media to interface across all networks and online platforms while upholding the agency’s mission and values. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and writer who understands how to manage their time and workload while maintaining quality in their work across all platforms. This position requires routine travel across the state with primary work daily from home.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and maintain an annual social media strategy and editorial calendar to ensure consistent and timely dissemination of content
- Assist in updating contact lists in Constant Contact, managing the scheduling of content, and other tasks related to maintaining consistent and streamlined communications across platforms
- Prepare unique content proposals for social media campaigns in a timely manner
- Actively manage MOVA’s social media presence and create digital content across networks (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn); respond to comments/messaging when needed
- Create static and motion graphic content on multiple platforms
- Stay up to date with emerging news relevant to victim services and identify opportunities for engagement
- Collect quantitative and qualitative data analytics from networks, create reports, analyze data, and recommend and implement changes, where necessary
- Collaborate with internal teams to inform social media strategy and ensure content is up to date, accurate, and consistent with MOVA’s branding and voice
- Monitor and update MOVA’s presence on mass.gov (Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance, askMOVA, and Garden of Peace) and respond to feedback feature when needed
- Support internal and external events by providing social media coverage, capturing photos, videos, etc. and posting real-time content
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for a degree
- Demonstrated ability to project manage and move deliverables forward in a timely manner
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in building marketing and/or social media campaigns
- Strong attention to detail and overall organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible
- Ability to interact and collaborate successfully with many different personality types and to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels within the agency and outside the agency
- Experience creating multimedia content, including video and graphics, and experience with programs like Canva, Adobe InDesign, Premiere Elements, and Constant Contact
- Experience in social and online media management, reporting, and analytics
- Commitment to furthering the agency’s overall mission
- Valid driver’s license. Travel through Massachusetts required.
- Familiarity with Google analytics preferred
- Familiarity with direct services programming (e.g., social services, sexual and domestic violence services, etc.) is a plus.

- Non-managerial, non-exempt position
- Salary range of $52,000 - 55,000 annually
- As a condition of employment, successful applicants will be required to have received COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption as of their start date
- Position is primarily work from home with anticipated regular (weekly) travel throughout MA, including to MOVA office locations in Boston and Northampton
