JOB DESCRIPTION 
As Development Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a successful fundraising program, including donor relationship management (CRM), prospect research, and financial reporting, and also provide event and annual giving support. With the recent implementation of the Nonprofit Success Pack of Salesforce as our new donor database, this position will be the lead knowledge source for the development team and will work on the continued implementation and management of Salesforce. This position plays a key role in keeping the development team organized, aligned, and on track to achieve its fundraising goals. The Operations Development Manager reports to the Chief Development Officer and works closely with the Development team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some proven experience in managing the development operations and still looking to further develop skills and experience in nonprofit fundraising, database administration and event management, while being part of an innovative, supportive and results-oriented team.  This position is a hybrid role located in our Burlington, MA-based office a few days per week and otherwise working at home.  
  
RESPONSIBLITIES 
Lead Database and Development Operations: 
  • Manage daily operations of Salesforce including maintaining data integrity and accuracy, mailing and donor lists, event attendance, pledges, gift records, merging duplicate records, systems upgrading, generate reports, and constituent outreach and exports 
  • Partner with our Salesforce Consultant to support effective implementation and execution of our new donor database including establishing systems and SOPs for data hygiene and manage strategy for expansion of database usage through plug-in tools such as SMS texting, prospecting software, and other implementations   
  • Lead gift processing and acknowledgements in a timely fashion, including checks, recurring gifts, credit cards, online gifts, payroll deductions, wire transfers/EFTs, in kind gifts and event purchases. Refresh gift acknowledgment letters on a regular basis 
  • Conduct donor and campaign analysis, pull regular and custom donor reports 
  • Work with CDO to manage reconciliation process with our finance team. Provide reconciled, quarterly reports for major gift program. Generate financial reports for CDO, team and for Board and Committee meetings 
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the operations of the Development office to achieve the goals of the organization, including act as first point of contact for donors 
  • Partner with auditors to help complete timely and accurate financial audits 
  • Work with Development team on crafting donor/prospect profile information 
 
Support Peer to Peer Fundraising Program and Volunteer-led Events 
  • In partnership with LuMind IDSC’s Senior Development Officer, manage programming and logistics for my321, our peer-to-peer fundraising program, as well as our charity marathon runners program 
  • Serve as the lead relationship manager with outside vendors, organize runner breakfasts 
  • Track giving, generate reports, and analyze annual giving and third-party results 
 
Support Annual Giving Program 
  • Provide support to three annual appeals, including both digital and direct mail campaigns 
  • Define and create donor segmentations to support appeals 
  • Work with Senior Development Officer to create strategies and implement programs to increase size, diversity and giving potential of LuMind IDSC’S annual giving donor base 
  
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years experience working in the development operations of a nonprofit organization; experience with annual giving and special events preferred 
  • High degree of comfort with technology, including database management with expertise and high competency within NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) Salesforce, including gift processing, pulling financial and campaign reports, creating queries and other CRM functions 
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to define engagement metrics and assess donor data 
  • Competent with core technology used at LuMind IDSC such as PC computers, Microsoft 365 (outlook, excel, PowerPoint, word), and basic computer skills; experience with SharePoint preferred 
  • Comfortable working in fast past environment, and is self-motivated with strong project management and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with high standards for accuracy and efficiency 
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information; 
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. 
  • Connection to, knowledge of, or experience with the Down syndrome community and an understanding of the LuMind IDSC mission preferred

Our office is located off of I-95 in Burlington, MA with easy access to restaurants and shopping.  Free parking is available onsite.
