Job Description
I. POSITION: Development Operations Manager
II. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Development Operations Manager will manage and execute the important functions of donor stewardship, database and data optimization, and Donor/Prospect research. The Development Operations Manager will collaborate with the CDO and development team to ensure a strong foundation for our development operations. The Development Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the next stage of growth in our development efforts. Boston MedFlight recently launched Raiser’s Edge NXT.
III. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Donor Database Optimization
· Responsible for ensuring the Raiser’s Edge donor database is consistently receiving and exporting accurate and timely data that meets the current and anticipated needs of the department.
· Accurate and timely gift entry
· Ensure that constituent records are entered and updated as needed
· Establish data entry procedures and policies to maintain, update and monitor the accuracy of the database.
· Be responsive and deliver on changing needs based on strategic initiatives
· Regularly participate in opportunities to ensure industry best practices are followed
Donor Stewardship:
· Manage and execute the day-to-day stewardship efforts of the department. Providing customized and segmented acknowledgment letters and gift receipts on a timely basis.
· Work collaboratively with department colleagues to organize stewardship efforts and events
Donor/Prospect Research:
· Utilizing a variety of methods, research individual and organizational prospects/donors to ensure up to date information is recorded and opportunities identified on a routine basis.
· Identify new donor prospects for both individual and grant solicitation on a regular basis
· Utilize public information sources and prospect research tools to research various prospects as needed.
· Identify current donors who may align with strategic initiatives for the department.
· Manage and prepare mailing lists for appeals, events, and publications.

Donor Pipeline and Portfolio Support:
· In conjunction with the CDO, participate in planning, implementation, and management of the fundraiser portfolio and pipeline:
· Under the direction of the CDO, make portfolio and pipeline assignments.
· Plan for and share regular portfolio and pipeline reports for the department
· Coordinate production schedules as necessary.
Giving and Event Platform Management:
· Manage Raiser’s Edge online giving and event management platforms to ensure they deliver an excellent experience for donors and event attendees.
· Be responsive and anticipate the needs of the department
· Ensure we are practicing best practices with an innovative approach the opportunity
· Ensure that the systems are set-up properly to provide accurate and timely data
Reporting and Lists:
· Readily and reliably furnish reports and lists on regular cadence. Routinely manage various criteria and segmentations to furnish reports and lists quickly and accurately.
· Prepare monthly status reports to be shared with organizational leadership.
· Prepare mailing lists for appeals, events, and publications as requested
Department Support:
· Work with the finance department to reconcile financial records.
· Provide support and collaborate on the operations of strategically important development events
IV. POTENTIAL DUTIES:
A. Occasional nights or evenings will be required.
B. Completing special projects as assigned by CDO.
C. General errands and attending off-site meetings requiring the use of a personal vehicle. Travel reimbursement is available.
V. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· 4+ years of previous fundraising and/or sales database experience required, bachelor's degree preferred.
o We require at least 2 years of Raisers Edge experience
· The Development Operations Manager will be a strong project manager and forward thinker.
· Flexible, adaptable, reliable, and able to prioritize in a constantly changing environment.
· Strong writing skills.
· Demonstrated ability to positively communicate and build interpersonal relationships
· Excellent organizational skills, and keen attention to detail.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language without restrictions.
· Able to maintain strict level of confidentiality as well as demonstrated sensitivity, discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, and maturity.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office a must including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
VI. NOTES:
· FBI and CORI criminal background checks will be performed prior to employment.
· Hybrid work environment with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
