Job Description
Flying Cloud Institute seeks a dedicated and capable fundraiser with a proven track record in raising
funds in the nonprofit sector. They will be responsible for developing and delivering on the overall
fundraising strategy of the organization, supplementing existing grant funding with unrestricted funding
from individuals, corporations, grant-makers, and other sources. The Development Manager will be
responsible for developing a diverse range of sustainable funding streams to support and expand the
work of the organization, working in collaboration with the Executive Director. This individual will also be
responsible for developing communications and maintaining accurate grant reports.

FCI paying a minimum of 60% of the premium and covering the first $1,000 of the $2,000 Annual
Deductible; FCI also offers a 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions through Mass CORE up
to 4%. Employment also includes 10 paid holidays, 40 hours paid sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid
vacation leave. Staff may be eligible for federal student loan repayment. Hybrid work and flexible
scheduling options are available.

- A strong track record of securing funding for nonprofit activities from a variety of funding streams
- A strong writing portfolio of communication and awareness-raising materials, including nonprofit
storytelling - Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Experience using G Suite, Excel, and Canva
- Proficiency with donor databases (Little Green Light a plus)
- Must have reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and have had a driver’s license for a
minimum of three consecutive years - Must be able to successfully pass a CORI and SORI background check
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational abilities
- Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets, and take
ownership of the overall fundraising program of the organization - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team
- Ability to exercise cultural competence and best practices in inclusion and equity, with the ability
to work closely with colleagues with a range of professional backgrounds - Able to work under pressure, meeting key project and reporting deadlines
