About Circle of Hope: Circle of Hope is a woman-led nonprofit organization based in Needham, Massachusetts. The mission of Circle of Hope is to provide individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity with clothing and hygiene essentials to promote health and opportunity. Circle of Hope strategically partners with 40+ homeless shelters, healthcare clinics, and other programs to provide clothing and necessities to thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness each year, including infants, children, college students, members of the LGBTQ community, older adults, and survivors of domestic violence.
About the role: Reporting to and in partnership with the Director of Development, the Development Associate supports the fundraising and donor engagement efforts of the organization. This role plays a key part in donor stewardship, database management, event coordination, and administrative fundraising and finance tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and passionate about advancing the nonprofit’s mission. Must be able to work independently yet collaboratively as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, mission-driven work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage donor database, ensuring accurate and timely entry of gifts and contact information
- Process donations, including making bank deposits and checking multiple online portals, generate acknowledgment letters and tax receipts
- Coordinate closely with internal team on financial reconciliation, including working with bookkeeper and understanding the chart of accounts and basic financial software
- Assist with donor stewardship and corporate sponsorship outreach
- Assist at fundraising events (logistics, vendor coordination, invitations, RSVP tracking)
- Collaborate with COH team members to support development goals and organizational priorities
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems
- Represent COH at community events and presentations
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, or related field
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal skills
- Desire to build and maintain relationships with donors and community members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Business (Especially Excel/Google Sheets)
- Experience with fundraising platforms (such as Bloomerang) or willingness to learn
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
- High level of discretion and professionalism
