About the Position:

Are you passionate about empowering survivors and making a difference in the lives of those affected by sexual assault and domestic violence? Join our team as a Counseling Advocate, where you will provide trauma-informed support, case management, counseling advocacy, and group sessions to victims and survivors, helping them rebuild their lives in a safe and compassionate environment.

  • Identify and prioritize clients' self-identified case management and counseling needs. Develop customized plans.
  • Make initial contact with clients within 24 hours of being assigned the case.
  • Conduct trauma informed, survivor-centered, goal-oriented counseling advocacy with clients on a regular basis.
  • Provide crisis intervention to walk-in clients as needed.
  • Co-facilitate group sessions on various relevant topics.
  • Provide referrals for needed services to appropriate agencies and providers.
  • Update and maintain accurate client charts.
  • Provide updates to the Counseling Advocacy Manager.
  • Additional responsibility as a Medical Advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

We are seeking a mission-driven individual who takes ownership of their work and can effectively engage with culturally diverse populations. The ideal candidate will be able to establish rapport and demonstrate empathy while maintaining professionalism and clear boundaries. They should have experience in crisis intervention and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. We value someone with excellent planning, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to facilitate groups and manage conflicts. Familiarity with community resources and proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and online reporting programs, are essential.


You'll Stand Out If:

  • You hold an Associate's degree in social services or a related field.
  • You have three years of experience providing social services to individuals and groups.
  • You have experience working in a non-profit setting, particularly with survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence, providing valuable insight and understanding of the unique challenges they face.
