Job Description
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (“GSEMA”) has a full-time opportunity available as a Conversion Specialist.
Reporting to the Manager of Conversion, the Conversion Specialist at GSEMA a key member of a mission-driven collaborative team that works to empower girls and support them as they become the leaders of tomorrow!
Conversion Specialists:
- Manage the critical role of supporting new adult volunteers as they seek to begin troops through which they will grow girls of Courage, Confidence, and Character.
- Support families in their search for a troop or other Girl Scout opportunity that best suits their girl’s needs and interests.
- Work to ensure that Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity and seeking to support a myriad of Girl Scouting opportunities for girls in all communities throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to develop innovative strategies aimed at increasing membership.
- Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages, and accept the Girl Scout commitment to work with all without regard to age, race, ethnicity/culture, country of origin, religion, language, socio-economic status, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, ability or political affiliation.
- Complete special projects as needed, including working extensively with other departments to support programs; participating in events that may require some evenings and weekends.
As a Conversion Specialist, you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or professional work experience in a membership or volunteer-based organization.
- Experience in a customer service environment or experience with Sandler Sales training is a plus.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office software; experience using Salesforce or other database software is highly desirable.
- The ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- The capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
Possessing bilingual skills is a plus! Girl Scout membership experience is desirable. New or recent college graduates are encouraged to apply!

This position is a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with the option to work from home or in a GSEMA office. Will require occasional travel to a Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts office/property.
