Community Resource Advocate Orange, MA area

Do you have excellent organizational and customer service skills? If you enjoy helping people and have good computer skills this job might be right for you. The position includes working with low-income individuals & families, answering our Information & Referral phone and meeting with people to assist with applications. In this role you will conduct comprehensive benefits screenings, schedule appointments, and provide advocacy, resources, and application assistance. Work both in-person and over the phone to help people complete applications for SNAP, Affordable Connectivity Program, RAFT, rental assistance and financial assistance, by using a strength-based model to educate households, develop plans of action and make connections to resources.

The ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or HS Equivalency and five years’ experience in Human Service or related field or applicable work experience working with individuals and families that have low incomes. Additional education may be substituted for related experience; excellent computer skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and reliable access to transportation to travel throughout Hampshire and Franklin County. 20-30 hrs./wk. Salary range $21.51- $22.82 plus $.50-$1.00 bilingual differential. Excellent benefits, training, supervision and collaborative work environment.
