Who we are: Since 1885, LifeScene’s mission has been to provide families in the greater Lynn area with opportunities to thrive.  We do this through a range of accessible and practical programming, for example, parenting support groups, in home visiting, family stabilization services, school readiness, Latina support groups, case management and workforce readiness for youth. Because many of the families we work with have been marginalized by circumstance, we are deliberate in creating safe spaces to discuss their needs. We are also deliberate in creating a sense of community, by using cohort approaches within individual programs, and maximizing the use of our building to create opportunities for structured play, community and celebratory events.  For 140 years our organizational culture has been focused on being responsive to community needs and interests, and we are looking for others who value community, creativity and best practice to join us!

The Opportunity: Family Alliance is a support and stabilization program with a goal to stabilize families, foster belonging and strengthen connections with families, peers, school and the community.  The Clinician will work in collaboration with a Case Manager to support and stabilize a caseload of 15 families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).  The Clinician will provide short-term, solution based, counseling services with the goal of improving family functioning, reducing and resolving conflicts within the family. Most of the meetings will take place in the family home, however the Clinician will also accompany relevant family members to court, IEP meetings, housing or social security offices, or other appointments where a family member would benefit from supportive counseling.  Individual clinical supervision will be provided by a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in addition to weekly case conferences that will include the LICSW, Clinician, Case Manager, and Family Service Division Director.
