Job Description
City Awake, the premier young professional platform of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, is currently accepting applications for an exciting internship opportunity to support the logistics of all City Awake programming. This role will primarily support all planning around City Awake's annual Fierce Urgency of Now Festival which brings Boston's diverse young professionals together with business leaders, organizations, and their peers to build connection, advance careers, and ignite positive change.
This role will support the implementation and strategic direction of City Awake which includes: Fierce Urgency of Now festival; Speaker Series (monthly); Ten Outstanding Young Leaders awards; and the City Awake Advisory Board. This role is designed for someone who is passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders, interested in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, curious about work within the Greater Boston business community, eager to enhance their event management skills, and is enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, out-of-the-box thinking environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Fierce Urgency of Now festival logistics, including event host support, website support, sponsorship relationship management, and event logistics.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the 2022 City Awake programming.
Contribute to the strategic direction for the 2022 Fierce Urgency of Now festival.
Research content including speakers, venues, and program models.
Update City Awake, Festival, and Advisory Board websites.
Assist with database management of programs including entering new contacts into the database, pulling reports, and tracking individual engagement of Advisory Board members.
Contribute to City Awake social media and marketing strategy.
Be available and willing to support organizational-wide efforts to support our members, specifically the overall Programs department.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interest in program design and implementation (prior experience is a plus)
Interest in community building and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to creatively solve problems and think proactively
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Experience with MS Office
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior-level executives
Superior time management skills
