Full Belly Foods is a nonprofit organization that increases access to fresh, nutritious food by partnering with affordable housing communities, foundations, nonprofits, and food vendors to provide free produce deliveries directly to residents. We work across multiple states and coordinate with vendors, property managers, and partner organizations to make healthy food easier and more accessible for families, seniors, and individuals.
Position Overview
Full Belly Foods is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Bookkeeper to support our growing nonprofit operations. This person will help manage day-to-day bookkeeping, vendor bills, customer invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliation, and financial recordkeeping.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, comfortable working independently, and experienced with QuickBooks Online. This role is especially important because Full Belly Foods works with multiple vendors, funders, and housing partners across different regions, so accurate tracking by customer, property, delivery, and vendor is essential.
Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s monthly bookkeeping process. Responsibilities include:
Entering and categorizing vendor bills, expenses, and payments in QuickBooks Online
Creating and sending invoices to partner organizations based on completed food deliveries
Tracking accounts receivable and following up on outstanding payments as needed
Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and QuickBooks records
Matching vendor invoices, delivery records, and customer invoices
Ensuring expenses and revenue are categorized properly by customer, vendor, and program where applicable
Maintaining clean and organized financial records for nonprofit reporting and grant tracking
Preparing monthly financial reports, including profit and loss, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow summaries
Supporting year-end close and coordinating with the organization’s tax preparer or CPA
Helping improve bookkeeping workflows as the organization continues to grow
Qualifications
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
Prior bookkeeping experience for a nonprofit, small business, food distributor, or service-based organization preferred
Comfortable managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
Comfortable working with Google Sheets, Excel, email, and shared cloud folders
Experience with nonprofit accounting, grant tracking, or class/customer/project tracking is a plus
Reliable, organized, and able to meet recurring weekly and monthly deadlines
