Job Description
Boston Cares is the largest volunteer agency in New England, a member of the Points of Light Global Network, and an award-winning leader in the volunteer engagement sector. Boston Cares partners with nonprofits and schools to expand their impact by mobilizing diverse people to collaboratively address our community’s critical needs. Filling more than 20,000 volunteer spots annually in support of more than 150 Greater Boston schools and non-profit agencies, we offer a wide array of programs and opportunities that make it simple for all to volunteer no matter how busy their schedules. We believe volunteers transform communities through service and civic engagement.
We are seeking members to join our Fiduciary Board as well as our Associate Board. Our Associate Board is specifically designed to accommodate early career professionals–a smaller financial expectation, flexibility in scheduling, and many opportunities to learn about board activities while participating.

Our Associate Board supports our Board of Directors and works with our staff to raise our public profile in the Greater Boston Community and help us achieve strategic objectives around fundraising, marketing and programming through work on our various committees. We are searching for a broad range of skills and professional backgrounds, including expertise in law, marketing, real estate, HR, finance, individual donor fundraising, and foundation grants. We are also committed to building a board and staff that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and are looking for candidates from a wide range of backgrounds to bring new voices into the strategic direction of the organization.
