We are a dynamic and fast-growing agency at the forefront of the "Food is Medicine" field, providing over 1M medically tailored meals annually to clients and their families experiencing illness and food insecurity in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition, our work strongly focuses on supporting the regional local food system, delivering high-quality nutrition education to the community, and hosting an on-site food-service workforce development program. Over the past 34 years, the agency has provided 13M+ free, scratch-made meals.
 
The Bilingual Registered Dietitian Nutritionist assists in the nutritional assessment and counseling of meal delivery clients, leads virtual and in-person community cooking and nutrition workshops, and ensures that home-delivered meals adhere to therapeutic goals and dietary standards.  It is a full-time position.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reviews client medical records and nutritional status to assess client eligibility for home meal delivery program 
  • Conducts telephonic nutritional assessments and develops care plans for meal delivery clients 
  • Provides nutritional counseling and responds to client concerns over the phone and in person upon request
  • Collaborates with referral partners and medical professionals to adjust client care plans
  • Assists with the tracking and maintenance of client paperwork for annual funder and agency audits
  • Collaborates with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to ensure client meals are meeting set nutrition standards
  • Assists with evaluating standardized recipes, auditing client meals, and conducting quality assurance measures
  • Leads virtual and/or in-person cooking and nutrition workshops both on-site and off-site, as needed
  • Assists Manager of Nutrition in supervising and developing projects for dietetic interns
 
Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Willingness to apply for licensure in the States of New Hampshire and Rhode Island
  • Bilingual speaking ability (Spanish preferred) 
  • Familiarity with the latest nutritional standards, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in developing therapeutic diets and menus for different diagnostic categories
  • Experience conducting group nutrition and healthy cooking education for culturally diverse audiences
  • Ability to translate complex scientific and nutritional information into simpler messaging for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations in order to effectively communicate with a multi-cultural population
  • Proficient in computers with knowledge of MS Office
  • Skill in the effective use of the English language to read and express ideas/facts orally.
  • ServSafe certification is a plus
  • Able to successfully pass a criminal background check upon hire. Community Servings is a CORI friendly employer.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field and at least six months of clinical nutrition experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
