Job Description
Title: Assistant to the Director of the Greater Boston Racial Wealth Gap Partnership

Department: Office of the President

Reports To: Director of the Greater Boston Racial Wealth Gap Partnership

FLSA Classification:Exempt    FTE: 1

Supervises: None

Hybrid Schedule (subject to change): On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; Remote Monday and Friday.

Position Budgeted:  $50,000.00 to $60,000.00

Position Summary: 
The Assistant to the Director provides administrative and programmatic support to the Director of the Greater Boston Racial Wealth Gap Partnership (the Director) and the Racial Wealth Gap Partnership team (the Partnership). They also serve as the liaison between the Director, the Racial Wealth Gap Partnership team, TBF staff, and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
  • Serves as the primary support person for the Director and the Racial Wealth Gap Partnership related responsibilities, tasks, activities, and special initiatives;
  • Acts as a frequent point of contact for Foundation staff working with the Director, as well as outside partners, many of whom are high-level corporate, public, and civic leaders;
  • Maintains the Director’s schedule, including coordinating meetings with other Foundation staff and outside organizations and answering and routing telephone calls;
  • Assists Racial Wealth Gap Partnership team in scheduling and planning all Partnership meetings and convenings; preparing all Partnership materials, including meeting agendas, notes, and materials, maintaining all Partnership files and information and serving as a liaison between members of the Racial Wealth Gap Partnership, Director, and Foundation staff; 
  • Proofreads, edits, and drafts various documents and/or correspondence generated by the Director;
  • Undertakes special programmatic projects as requested by the Director, such as research and writing related tasks; and
  • Conducts research and prepares meeting and event briefings for the Director occasionally.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Individuals assigned to this position may perform other duties as assigned.
Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
  • College degree or equivalent related experience; 
  • At least 2-3 years work-related experience; and
  • Relevant experience in racial and/or economic justice work is preferred.
Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills; 
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products;
  • Ability to coordinate both in-person and virtual meetings for executive level individuals;
  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines;
  • Ability to handle highly confidential matters;
  • Skilled at making decisions about how to manage and organize workload;
  • Ability to receive and provide feedback; 
  • Mature interpersonal style, ability to interact well with a diverse range of people with diplomacy; and
  • Possesses a warm and hospitable demeanor to serve as first point of welcome for Director and Partnership-related guests.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work for long periods of time at a workstation;
  • Ability to use a computer monitor and keyboard for long periods of time; and
  • Ability to work onsite and remotely, as required.
