Job Description

Collaborative for Educational Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant for HEC Academy, a public day special education program that offers a small-school learning environment for high school students with learning disabilities and/or social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. The Administrative Assistant will provide professional, efficient, and inclusive administrative support to the Assistant Director of Special Education and the HEC Academy community.  The Assistant represents the special education department to the public, and performs diversified administrative and highly confidential duties to ensure that the school provides exemplary service to HEC Academy students.  This part time position is benefits eligible with a  schedule of 25 hours per week which is reflective of school hours.

Highlights of What You Will Do:  

  • Support student growth and achievement, each and every day, while working side by side with other HEC Academy and special education department staff.
  • Build positive connections and help to create a learning environment where students experience a sense of belonging for the first time; this in turn, helps them, willingly and comfortably, engage in learning so that they may realize their potential for future success.
  • Provide administrative support to staff, giving them more time to devote to students’ educational needs.
  • Through your thoughtful and professional contributions, keep HEC Academy functioning efficiently as you continue providing the administrative support necessary to maintain a truly student-centered school. 
  • Interact professionally with the school districts who rely on the fact that our school is an ideal place for students who may benefit from an alternative educational setting. 

Compensation range: $20-$23 hour

Position Schedule/Hours:
School year: (185) 5-hour days, Monday through Friday, (includes unpaid 30 minute break) per the school calendar. Work hours are from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM. Summer: 5-hour days during July/early August; Monday through Friday. Work hours are from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM (separate hourly contract).
